Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information CattleOS Inc. (“LabelRex”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the LabelRex website and app (the “Service”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we cannot see them.
Profile: your name, role (for example veterinarian, technician or student), how you use LabelRex (work, study or personal), your clinic, company or school, graduation year, practice type, country, and how you heard about us.
Consents: the version and date of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, and whether you agreed to receive news and offers.
Preferences: your language and the country you search first.
Your content: notes you write, labels you save, and links you create with the share feature.
Billing: if you subscribe, your plan, its status and renewal date, and the customer and subscription references Stripe gives us. Your card details and billing address go to Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
Messages: anything you send us, such as support requests.

Information collected when you use the Service

Activity: the labels you view (so we can show your recently viewed labels), and, during the free trial, the searches you run (to apply the daily search limit).
Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from the IP address (used to suggest your country at sign-up), and logs of requests, which our hosting providers record to run and secure the Service.

We do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers, and we do not ask for information about your clients or patients. Please do not put such information in your notes.

2. How we use it

to create and secure your account, sign you in and provide the Service, including your saved labels, notes and preferences;
to take payment for your plan, give you the access you paid for, and keep billing records the law requires;
to understand who uses LabelRex (for example, how many users are students or work in practice, and in which countries) so we can plan and improve the Service, usually in aggregated form;
to send you messages about your account and the Service, such as email confirmation, password resets, and changes to our Terms;
to send you news and offers about LabelRex and our related products, only if you agreed to this; you can withdraw at any time;
to detect and prevent abuse, such as scraping or account sharing, and to enforce our Terms;
to meet legal obligations.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom), we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service, your consent (for marketing), and legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers that run the Service for us under contract: Supabase (database and authentication, including account emails), Vercel (hosting) and Stripe (payments and billing). They may use it only to provide their services to us.
People you choose: when you create a share link, anyone with the link can see that label (not your notes).
Authorities or others when the law requires it, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us.
A successor if LabelRex is sold, merged or reorganized, who must keep protecting your information as this policy describes.

4. Where it is stored

Our database is hosted in the United States, and our providers may process information in other countries. Your information may therefore be subject to the laws of those countries, including access by their authorities. Where required, we use contractual safeguards for international transfers.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account information, profile and content while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize them within 30 days, except where we must keep some information longer for legal, security or dispute reasons. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our hosting providers. A record of your acceptance of our Terms may be kept as long as needed to show what you agreed to.

6. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls that let each user see only their own data, and limited staff access. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.

7. Your choices and rights

You can update your language and country in Account, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA, the EU and UK GDPR, or U.S. state privacy laws), you may also have the right to:

see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
correct it;
have it deleted, including deleting your account;
object to or restrict some uses of it, and withdraw consent;
complain to your privacy regulator, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To use these rights, email us at support@cattleos.com from the address on your account. We will respond within the time the law requires, usually 30 days.

8. Cookies and storage on your device

We use only cookies the Service needs to work: cookies that keep you signed in, and one that remembers your language. The app also stores copies of pages and labels on your device so they work offline; signing out removes them. We do not use advertising cookies.

9. Children

The Service is for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will ask you to review and accept it the next time you use the Service. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
